The number of shares is irrelevant in that comparison. The market cap is all you should look at. If one company owns 30% of an asset worth say $100mill, its mc should be around $30m and the 70% owner would be around $70m. You would then adjust for other assets or debt. If the smaller holder had $10mill cash or another project worth $10mill, it's mc should be $40mill instead of $30mill. You then work out the target sp based on the target mc and the number of shares of that company.
While I'm here can someone answer a question for me? I only hold a small position because HM is not something I know much about. Are there any HM producer's with a similar resource grade and proportions of HM's to what PTR has identified so far? I'd like to have a look at their production, profits etc.
