Jesus was not Jewish by faith nor by race. The Edomites, referred to as Jews during that period, were predominantly of Persian descent. They adhered to their Persian Messiah, Zoroaster, and later were influenced by Mithraism, which has its roots in Babylon. This Babylonian Zoroastrianism is where many of the doctrines regarding Hell, salvation, etc, etc.
This is the reason the leaders in Judea at the time (which were not Judahite stock) could not accept Jesus. They blended Zoroastrianism with Hebrewism.
