The hot gossip is that someone with a commercial drone pilot's license was flying one over the Hollywood fires in breach of temporary restrictions and collided with a tanker plane which was damaged but returned to base safely. The damage is repairable but not in the time frame that matters.

This chap is in deep do do. The direct flight safety breaches will score him a fine and jail time but it isn't hard to believe that more serious charges around purposely endangering life could be laid.

How does son determine the veracity of “news” he sources from X when by admission they do not check facts?

With assist from AI, I understand it is not a difficult task to forge/falsify content attributable to otherwise reputable sources.
