Hi ht I know we have done this to death but I can't stand it and you have sort of brought it up again. I know we have differed on this a tad :-) I'm still convinced as soon as BHP management stop being out right stubborn/silly OZL will be gone. Speaking frank here and IMO BHP have something of a problem - it won't hurt them too much but there are some far-reaching consequences.
bhp have failed miserably in trying to make a large acquisition - wpl looks like their only saviour but I'm not convinced they have the brains or ability to pull it off.
The real problem is olympic dam
there are extreme labour shortages and they simply won't be able to get the expansion built any time soon.
Yesterday's santos gladstone lng announcement means that they will be pulling workers out of an already tight WA labour market - 5000 workers required, 1500 in first half of this year
Which brings us back to the old favourite - why in the hell wouldn't they/didn't they buy ozl? I still feel they will and they pay around $3.00 bucks. I know many will feel I'm drawing a longish bow here but I can only say lets see.
