Early result for the Continental Resources Gapstow unit , which are described as " compelling", with the best well coming in at 66024 barrels oil for November, or 2200 BOPD if flowing for the full 30 days.
The well involved was one of the wells BRK doesn't have a WI in..... but it does have WI in 7 of the 9.
The commentary from Convey 640 highlights the Tier 1 quality of the acreage which in itself is significant for BRK.
Please note the Gapstow wells are not shown in the above map, but are located immediately to the east of the highlighted Courbet wells. As these are the multiunit wells drilled at ~a 45 % angle, the lateral sections are typically ~12000 to 13000 feet which means greater flows per well. I am hoping BRK will eventually be holding some DSU's which will facilitate these longer wells.
As a point on interest, operators in the Permian basin have started to drill "horse shoe " laterals in the smaller 640 acre drilling units. Instead of 2 lots of 5000 ft wells, they are drilling one vertical section, running it 5000ft and then turning the drill bit 180% in a U shape and heading back . This way they are turning fairly unproductive 5000 ft laterals into very productive 10000+ ft laterals...... amazing concept and engineering !
