Not always true. market cap is what is important. companies like ION (and there are 100's of them, and 1000's just like it in years gone by) need to issue equity in exchange for cash, to keep developing the technology that makes them a speculative investment. ION have flagged obtaining R&D tax credits, as well as collaboration with industry which will hopefully by non dilutionary for current and future investors.
Imo you need to be weary of companies that raise capital at decreasing share prices, and decreasing or stagnant market caps whilst consolidating the share base. ION raised @ 1.4c, at a market cap of about $10m.
ION has a journey ahead of it, but seems to have attracted a really competent management team which is well connected in the EU and US. The future is really bright. EV batteries aren't going anywhere, and governments worldwide are waking up to the benefits of recycling critical minerals.
we are capped at about $20m. I've said it before but check out BRN.AX. yes they have an exciting technology, but they are not generating meaningful revenues, whilst continuing to develop their tech. Check their market cap....
