Certainly, a lot of downramping going on....more than usual...

With Trump's inauguration upon us, part of his focus is most definitely on defence and the military industrial complex in the USA.

A quick search of defence contractor bans yields this-

There's pages of this, and it was highlighted again on the 2nd of January, by further official commentary coming out of China, of which I have previously posted.

    So what will happen?

Well, anything could happen under Trump, but in this instance, I think he and his administration will be forced into action and take this challenge head on.

The defence angle is one we have toyed with, but have not really been serious about, as we have been primarily consumed with Belfast, Ford and the contribution we will make to Halewood.

But this all could change very quickly with the right lobbying to the right people.

Enter Pete Hegseth, he is very in tune with putting America first, which will include their defence contractors

And this new administration is acutely aware..this from 4 days ago...

They have known this for over a decade, and now are at a point of no return, something must be done....

General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin are both on China's hit list.

Virginia class submarine- 9200lbs of rare earths
Aegis destroyer- 5200lbs of rare earths
    F-35- 920lbs of rare earths

So, ladies and gentlemen, we may see another change in strategy for IXR, but this time it won't be a shift in what we are doing.

It will be who we supply to and are aligned with as strategic partners.

Ford may be destined to be a partner from the past...an old flame.

Our future partners may be some serious heavy hitters, way beyond the capacity, capability and cash reserves of Ford.

Our future is now cemented in recycling, but who will we supply to?

    Time will tell....

    Good luck everyone.
