Peach and Apricot were one of the first trees I planted, lol there is a thread in the Food and Nutrition forum called "Fruit and Veg garden were some of use post about that.
Anyway I get a heap Apricots and shit load of Peaches each year but fruit flies destroy the lot, I have tried baits, traps, sprays and even mesh bags over individual fruit with no luck
