Long story short, the long version is in the thread I mentioned
I had mostly Native plants in my yard and a big patch of lawn that got neglected, that’s another story.
I decided to have a few fruit trees and vege patch, look at getting rain water tanks and when I realised I would be up for over $2k for tanks alone looked into getting a bore. Got a quote of be over $3k for bore, pump and controller.
Well with access to as much water as I want I went stupid planting fruit trees, think I have around 20 fruit trees/ shrubs plant. Also created 3 interconnected ponds that now have heaps of glass shrimp and Marron.
LOL been a lot of trail and error as I had poor sandy soil but making progress
FYI @noddan post on the thread I mention, he is in SA relies on rainwater for his garden and does quite well
