The Best performing test will become the Gold Standard and No 1 preferred test, whenever it's available and accessible. By accessible, I include cost as well.
It's how medicine works. Its what Sir Peter Mac meant when he said: "Only the best is good enough for cancer!" Anything else is just a scandal. Investors may not care so much, but clinicians do care. They won't break the oat to save the ASX.
(With reference to Prostate imaging), that's how we moved from what is referred to as Conventional Imaging (CT, MRI, bone scan), to the current Gold Standard PSMA PET scanning (Illuccix from Telix, and Pylarify from Lantheus).
That's not to say that 2nd and 3rd best will have no role in future: they will. Access is not an easy hurdle to overcome. Even to this day, we have people using bone scans!
