Plan B should be a share buyback. When the share price is at or near cash it is a no-brainer. Check out CVN as a recent example.
Plan C would be to distribute the capital without a tax ruling. Let individual shareholders worry about tax. Some would pay zero anyway if using an SMSF in pension phase. (For the record I would be slugged 15% using my SMSF but I'm sure I speak for all super fund holders when I say I would have gladly had my fund pay 15% tax to allow me to reinvest that cash over a year ago)
