I'm originally from the North East of England ( Newcastle/ Geordies) where bar fights are part of your upbringing.
i intervened where someone close to me was being threatened by a large knife.
After "explaining" to the assailant that knife crime was unacceptable i was coward hit from behind by a bar stool leading to a broken back.
