SMC is probably not interested in paying any more than $1.28 (Zijin's original offer). The fact that the copper price has soared since February is now largely irrelevant.
In the absence of a competitve bid situation, this is probably best case at this stage. SP behaviour of late seems to indicate that this might be the likely outcome.
