But at the end of the day, Chinese investors want to control the company (100% ownership) in comparison to the Japanese investors. This is just base on my views of recent takeover bids by the Chinese investors (BRM, FRS, BCI, AOE, and many more). Japanese investors tend to involve and contribute to the running of company rather than 100% takeover, again this is base on few years working in Tokyo and looking back at the history of Japanese investment in Australia since 1950 (for example, BHP).
