Major Project requirements
Under the terms of the declaration, the Centrex-WISCO port JV will now need to lodge a formal development application and supporting information with the Governments Department of Planning and Local Government.
The Department will then be responsible for referring the application to the States Development Assessment Commission (DAC) for setting the ports level of assessment and formal guidelines.
The assessment is expected to cover all aspects of the Sheep Hill proposal including the construction and operation of a port terminal, ship loading systems for capesize vessels, bulk commodity storage facility, mineral processing facility, all associated infrastructure and road transport access.
Centrex expects the Development Application to be lodged in the current March 2011 quarter under an objective of achieving first exports by 2014-2015.
