You make some valid points and I certainly agree with your right to make whatever comments you want (within the rules).
My post did not suggest otherwise.
Your response answered the question (in part) as to why you continue to post on the AZZ thread when you are not a shareholder.
It seems, in part, you are waging (or wanting to wage) a battle between perceived good and preceived evil and to bring about a change in the way the world works.
We know what your long-held views on AZZ are, and you know that we know what your views are. It seems by your post that by (continually) posting (the same) comments on the AZZ thread you suggest or hope that this will bring an awareness of and as a result, a fundamental shift in the morality of corporate Australia and/or the oppressed minority shareholder will rise up and put to the sword the evil and greedy demagoues.
That is most certainly your right to do so.
I invest in shares to make money - not to change the long-term realities of our investment world. As a result I have a more pragmatic view and see the realities of the investment world for what they are - consisting of both good and bad people and decisions and an opportunity to make some money while accepting that in some cases, I will lose money.
I also accept that the poeple who run companies are just like everyone else.
They want to make money and to succeed. They are aware that they must operate within a strongly regulated environment where the personal and financial risks are very high, as are the rewards. They have strengths and weaknesses and some are good at what they do and others are not. They want to ensure that their positions are protected as much as possible and therefore act not only in shareholders interests, but their own interests as well.
By and large though, most want to do the right thing and have a vested financial interest for doing so.
These basis fundamental realities persist in every company make-up to a greater or lesser extent and like it or not, there is little that one can do to change this (although you may diuffer on this point).
So again, I take the view that if you do not like the way a company is run then go find a company that you do like.
If you want to wage a holy crusade through the AZZ thread then knock yourself.
However you would probably have more chance of getting others to follow and respect your crusdae if you were actually a shareholder in the company you constantly lambast with real dollars on the line.
Notwithstanding our idelogical differences as I said in the beginning, you do make some other valid points in your post.
