A combination of all of the above really. Lack of African expericence, language, culture etc. are major issues, along with a lack of exploration experience. I this the combination of technical background and MBA/analyst type work is in principle a good combination for a junior CEO however roughly 5 years of each doesnt make someone highly experienced. Its his first role as a CEO - not something hes done before and his experience level would be light on for an exploration manager let alone a CEO. But who knows, the drill bit will be what really counts.
