CFD providers and the big end of town, know what everyone put/set their stop losses at, and when they are ready, they quickly make a move on the sp and activate those stop losses while accumulating at very low prices. A little manipulation here and there, which they are very good at doing, is all it will take and bingo they got your shares. If you want to buy them back, it will cost you a little more, unless you are willing to take the gamble that they will drop further.
IMHO, if one wants to use a stop loss (I have never made use of one), the best way is to set it in his/her mind and then sell when the sp reach the level desired. WITHOUT MAKING IT NOTICEABLE TO ANYONE.
