    You think you are getting 15% dividends from CBA!

    That is the problem with your thinking. You are totally missing the point.

    Do you think that someone who bought the shares for $5.00 is getting a 93% yield on the dividend?

    You are, in fact, getting a 2.86% yield based on the current price, not what you paid for it. Sell the shares & buy them back at the same price then ask yourself what the yield is.

    If you did sell the shares, you wouldn't buy them back because they are too expensive & the yield is too low.

    Incidentally, I have not shorted any shares & would only consider buying back in when the yield is closer to 4%.
