To each their own. Maybe some people like swimming upstream or jumping over high hurdles. My mind is not big enough for that kind of trading. I simply look for good companies trading at reasonable valuations and when I see something special I increase my bet size. If I am wrong, I will live with that. But I will always know that I made the best decisions I could at the time given the available information. I take comfort in knowing that all I am doing is trying to skew the odds in my favor.
