tarasbulba. 99.9% of people don't understand contribs. Here are the salient facts:
They are NOT an option to buy a share. (Anyone who says so is not to be listened to!! test them out and see of they know the following points.)
They can be listed and therefore traded.
They ARE a share but only paid-up to 50%. Because of that they 1) carry voting rights commensurate with what they are paid up to; 2) can have a FULL dividend paid against them.
A competent Board will 1) NEVER call their contribs; 2) continue to extend the "no call before date" which can be done via a normal resolution without any notice in a normal Board meeting.
They are only available to Mining and exploration companies which is why so few people know about them.
They are an incredible business building tool. Buy them by all means but don't convert them to fully paids....there is little point.
