Just listened to the call, was interesting to hear that HCW has received a formal proposal from HMC capital.
Reading between the lines if healthscope even put one foot wrong, they will be turfed and the HMC consortium will take over the leases and operations.
I would not be surprised if this was the plan all along.
Given HCW currently rents these assets to healthscope below market, any deal which involves a more competitive rate and long lease will be attractive to HCW. Will remove uncertainty and increase flexibility of the trust. Distributions could increase and development can recommence.
The path forward looks pretty clear to me.
