    afternoon,

I don't know much about modern media sales - but in answer to this bit
"Given the strength of Google maps and Telstra's WhereIs products I'm not sure what value Nearmap can add to the every day consumer experience that would result in the traffic volumes or visitor profile required to make an advertising model profitable."

Surely every single person who is looking at buying property would look at Nearmap images if they knew about Nearmap.

Arrh, if you were near a flood area in Brisbane - would you look at it or would you look at Google?

Bushfire area - ? same deal.

    Near a potential freeway?

    etc. etc.

Want to check on what your house looked like over the last year on a regular basis if you are in a capital - where do you look at it?? -- Only one place that I know of.

Greenies looking at a potential political contest site - eg. a chemical plant in the suburbs - what can you see on a monthly/regular basis?

You are a business owner and want to prove your case that your site is well run - ? Nearmap just might prove you right (or wrong).

As I say, I don't know about how you monitise this - but the hit rates should be enormous - anyone who has an interest in looking down on something will flow to this rather than imagery that is 12 months old.

Want to see if your partners car was where it should have been on such and such a day --------- here is your free eye in the sky -------------- so watch out.

    Does this make any sense?

    pinto
