The buyback is the board catering for the institution and traders to give them ample time to minimise their tax obligations.
That is what is meant by the usual mantra “ as the most efficient form of returning capital”
Stuff the rest of the retail shareholders….there is another way to consolidate holdings and distribute excess capital to all shareholders.
