I have been watching with some amusement the many posts on the 2 year delay as if it is new information. However, its not new.
Early last December at a Sydney conference I spoke to Simon (but it may have been one of the other SPR team) about the timeline and his comments lined up with he stated publicly in December.
He told me they are targeting extracting ore from the first stopes at NN/Pepper later in 2025 and are intend building up an ore stockpile ready to be processed through the mill before producing gold hopefully in the last quarter of 2026. That is basically within a 2 year timeframe so nothing seems to have changed since early December. I posted this information last December on HC.
Simon has publicly stated they intend to have a lot of ore stockpiled before production and will not need to undertake hedging if they need to access debt. It will probably take them until late this year to be ready to access the stopes at NN/Pepper. They also need to undertake a lot of infill grade control drilling from UG.
It is a low risk approach to production and we may even find that production commences earlier.
While its disappointing the delay is not the end of the whole.
