Forgetting the meaningless noise and fury here for a moment from the usual defectives. Imagine how totally screwed we would be if there wasn't a very good economic path to renewables. ie Solar cells don't exist and for some reason Wind doesn't work.
I'm contemplating what that would be like.
Think what it would be like to know the only known way to power our world would also destroy it. Maybe then Nukes would be the most economic answer for all nations. How would people react, would we accept a transition back to animal power after the worlds limited Uranium is rapidly depleted? I guess the FF industry with no alternate competition would have had no reason to fund denial, subsequent to that most people here would have different opinions. But that's as boring as they are.
I think we are extremely lucky that it's even physically possible to build a renewable's based economy. The main obstacle seems to be our own stupidity as is illustrated here and nearly every where else every day.
