No, I don’t agree. Coles has no obligation to throw any lavish bonuses on employees. They are responsible, within the law, for paying wages, contributions to Super, and they have a duty of care and so on. Big Bonuses are not part of the deal…if an employee wants generous bonuses they need to go to a company that has a culture of doing this. There are some high tech companies who have a reputation for incentivising their employees this way. If that’s what you’re after, go for it.
