From what I understand, both announcements are referring to the same 'recycled graphite'.
Recycled graphite from black mass is easily done by many recyclers. That graphite however has issues with intercalation that does not allow for use in anodes. Talga's additional processes allow for this 'recycled graphite' to be used for anodes again.
