Good post, but you will find that it will not be well appreciated in this forum. Many CXY holders here will not accept the fact that CXY is partly to blame for their own demise. Instead they prefer to blame the corrupt government, blame greenies, blame the dubious independent scientific experts, basically blame anyone/anything but CXY. Based on the posts it appears like some CXY holders think that CXY had a right to succeed. CXY caused their own casing failure, a failure that has led to increased scrutiny of CXY's operation and UCG in QLD. After 6+ months, the report revealed inadequacies with CXY and based on that, CXY should not continue. Fair call in my opinion. CXY was a company with no money, no land, no technology (Ergo Exergy provided the technology) but yet it was expected to be a huge success. Why???
Imagine if CXY (or any other company) made a huge environmental mess. Who would pay for the clean up? Should the QLD (or any) government just allow anybody to trial any technology? The answer is no and if the company in question can?t prove itself and appropriate risk management then it shouldn?t be allowed to proceed. My point here is that if you can?t handle the heat, or combustion in this case, get out of the kitchen.
UCG is being touted as ?clean coal technology? and if it is to be a success it needs to have a clean environmental record, something it doesn?t have because of the screw ups in the 70s and 80s. As a LNC holder I will be happy to see the back of CXY or any other micky mouse operation that can?t appease governmental scrutiny. The UCG industry doesn't need another screw up like this.
