Putin stated 20 years ago that before he died, he wanted to recreate the old Russian empire - that includes Finland, the Baltic states and Finland. There is a good reason why they chose to join NATO. Of course, he is like Hitler - or you have not studied history very well as they are playing out of the same book. Appeasement did not work in the 1930's and it won't work now - for Trump, it is just a business deal for the Ukraine and Europe it is a matter of survival.
