A couple of things I have thought of after reading your well thought through post:

1. The published US Defence budget is just shy of $US 1 Trillion - commentators suggest that it is much more spent via other Government Departments.

2. I read that President Trump is thought bubbling the idea that Russia, China & the USA could come together and cut their respect defence spending by 50% claiming that the huge defence spending by each country was unsustainable and would send them all broke.

3. Musk and DOGE clearly have President Trumps approval to investigate Defence spending - leave aside the politics large bureaucracies always have waste and inefficiency and it will be found and publicised.

4. Quantum Ventura in an SBIR research project funded by the US Department of Energy found that a Brainchip AKIDA USB for $US50.00(approx) could perform the same work of a $US30,000(approx) Nvidia GPU in a hand held contraband detection device for Homeland Security.

5. When Brainchip and Tata Elxsi announced their partnership a senior VP of Sales at Tata Elxsi on LinkedIn celebrated now having an alternative to over priced Nvidia GPUs.

6. Brainchip has been busy over the last couple of months announcing contracts, engagements and partnerships with players in the US Defence sector with the Airforce Research Laboratory, ISL, Quantum Ventura, Lockheed Martin, Bascom Hunter etc;

Given the above the pressure will be on the US Defence Sector to come up with savings. Stepping forward with I can reduce a $US30,000 spend to $US50.00 sounds like a fast track promotion to me.
