I also predicted that The Star will go into voluntary administration. My post received a lot of criticism. Worst of all I was accused of being a shorter. To be clear, I am not a shorter. Actually, I hoped that The Star would survive. We would be better off with Star over Crown.

Today’s Age and SMH newspapers contain a major story exposing Crown casino’s arrogance and devious behaviour. Crown is using Withdrawal of Licence letters to ban customers. This practice undermines the statutory exclusion process contained in the Casino Control Act. Parliament intended that all casino bans are done in accordance with the Casino Control Act. Sneaky Crown deliberately ignores the legislation. A casino exclusion under the Casino Control Act must be reported to the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission and can be appealed. The Withdrawal of Licence of a customer is not reported to the VGCCC and cannot be challenged.
This is an example of Crown undermining public trust. And undermines the Australian casino industry. You really have to question how Crown casino got its licence back.
Crown casino should lose its licence over this conduct. The Star is a far better casino than Crown. Star’s licence should be reinstated. The Star should not be the scape goat for Crown.
If Star’s licence was given back, it would be able to quickly find capital. And then continue as a successful business that supports tourism in Australia.
