@Hedg, it's easy to say that about the war in Ukraine when you are sitting on the other side of the world and it sounds like you are only hearing the US administrations/Russian side of the argument. Have you been outside of Australia much - I'm alright jack!

Zeleski isn't looking for a long war, he is looking for a just and sustainable peace and would finish it tomorrow if he could achieve that. Problem is that the US/Trump is only after a quick fix that he can claim as a win for himself - plus the money HE can make out of the minerals.

The US/Trump, on its's own, could end this quickly by giving Ukraine the weapons it needs and then sort out the shit show of NATO afterwards - which I agree is a shit show. They were very quick to help Israel when the Iranians fired rockets, but Ukraine get that EVERY DAY and the US/NATO does nothing.

Putin wouldn't blink twice if there were American companies in the area he wanted to "liberate" - he's already done that in the Donbas and Crimea.
If Ukraine doesn't have military superiority after any peace deal, Putin will rearm and have another go in a few years time when he has built up his military again - and they will be much the wiser and better equipped having experience the current conflict.

Have you seen how the Russians live anywhere outside of Moscow/St Petersburgh? If you haven't, I suggest you do so and then ask yourself, would you fight to prevent yourself from living like that? I suspect you would, because that is the fate that awaits most of Ukraine if Russia were to take over. Putin would "Russify" Ukraine so that it no longer existed. Would you fight if that were Australia? Again, I suspect you would.

It is a sad reality that Europe has relied on the US for too long, but giving in to Putin is not the way to change that and finally Europe is waking up to the fact.

This is nothing like Korea and could never be, and that is definitely not what Trump is trying to achieve or he would be arming Ukraine to the teeth as did the US in Korea. Don't forget, the US had boots on the ground there! Putin is not Kim and is far more dangerous and has plans to restore the USSR and won't stop until he has done so or is stopped by force.

And as for WWIII, it's far more likely to happen if the US/Trump carries on down this path as the dictators are emboldened, and this time it will be on Australia's doorstep when China invades Taiwan and carries on down the South China Sea. Well actually, there won't be a WWIII because no one will be even close to being able to stop them because America will just sit back and watch.
Filth with warped ideas?? Would you like to explain that sentiment? And no, the EU is not ready for war, which they should be because they have a Psychopathic Dictator on their doorstep.
