re: full of promise/new info Its interesting to see that emphesema device, initially these guys had some machine they were using specifically for babies lungs. THe American company I was previously following started pushing the disposable items needed for each machine to work in a way like the shick razer principle sell the razer cheep and make the money of the blades later.
they were starting to make small sales that way, they found it strange doctors with all their money were very poor at money management would rather make make big opex payments than having any capex, so started leasing the machines with a buy in clause, still sales were dismal, but then the machines were like $US20k each.
THey had sales staff all over the world including Australia but sales were very very light and were still burning cash after 5 years in the business.
PBI staff do seem to be keeping their labor costs reined in which is a good thing probably partly due to their large vested interest in it financially, intellectually, and probably emotionly its their baby.
Realisticly the odds of this being successfull are low even if they have a few rock chips showing promise they still need a farm in partner before they can start drilling for the next broken hill and then market a mineral no doc has seen before.
