Pointless pedantry....but anyway, by definition, in that link, the AU bank guarantee levy does no fall under the heading of "financial support".
In fact, banks (at least 5 of them) pay the govt, not the other way around, such as the USD 700B TARP n the GFC, where the banks were simply supported by doling out cash.
Here, it's the opposite.
And in the next sentence, this is supported by the direction of govt/private sector cashflow by :
"can take the form of loans, cash, bonds, or stock purchases."
Did the LNP govt at the time effect any of those transactions ?
It's quite an evident difference, really. Case closed.
