Good healthy debate here on a very important topic.
Demonstrably, it proves one thing conclusively - namely that the debate on anthropogenic global warming [AGW} is far from over.
That, I would have thought, is precisely what sceptics are saying....which rather proves a point.
It is unfortunate that a scientific theory, still under evaluation, has been hijacked from the scientific community - where it should have stayed until research was concluded - by the political process. I am no scientist and I wager there are no climate scientists on this blog. Our lay opinions are worth little - nothing in fact. A scientific theory is either valid or it isn't. The concept of "consensus" introduced by some is abject nonsense, as is reliance on the Precautionary Principle. The PP is a logical fallacy - the same used by the Vatican to get deathbed converts - just in case.
I would be happy for the whole debate to be moved back to the research communities where it belongs, and away from sensationalist media and shrill headlines.
