But LTM is not a junior - it was/is a multi-billion operating company getting swallowed by a major. I'm referring to proper lithium juniors. In almost all cases they would never move the needle for a major... so no matter what the holder thinks about the economics of their own company's project, they will continue to be overlooked by majors for the very reason they lack meaningful scale.
Majors acquire mid-tiers (think BHP taking OZL, or RIO taking LTM, or NST taking DEG). Occasionally there's an outlier (i.e FMG recently acquiring RHK) but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I suspect many majors would look with caution at MIN's experience of hurling cash at speculative lithium juniors.
