Lithium Americas' Thacker Pass project has several similarities to Rhyolite Ridge:
- Located in Nevada, USA, and an important domestic source of lithium
- Mine approved by the Bureau of Land Management in January 2021
- Proposed on-site lithium processing facility to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate
- $2.26 billion loan from US DOE finalized in October 2024
- GM is Lithium Americas' joint venture equity partner with a 38% interest in Thacker Pass
- Awaiting Final Investment Decision (FID)
Given these and other similarities, I think it's reasonable to compare Thacker Pass, including the progress they've made and the obstacles they face, with Rhyolite Ridge. I've got two questions for ya'll:
1. What do you think of Lithium Americas Corp (LAC) as an investment compared to Ioneer?
2. There's good discussion about Ioneer on HC. Do you know of a forum that has similar quality discussion on Lithium Americas?
Cheers
