One thing has me worried in all this talk of demand ... and it's the assumption of our battery partners having manufacturing capacity at the time AVL/VSUN would need it for the 50mwh BESS in Kalgoorlie.
For example, Vanadium flow battery maker preps for UK long-duration storage tender - Energy Storage, states that Invinity has a new order for 2GWh, for a single company yet their annual battery manufacturing capacity is lower than that (I believe its under 1GWh). Considering they'd have other current projects and some future ones, that's one partner unable to be part of AVLs tender if the terms need project completion by 2029.
Does WA need one of our partners to set-up a facility here? Alternatively, Labor would need to hurry up in advertising the tender for AVL to secure the orders long lead time.
