World changing. And quickly.
Yili Ilyushin, Director of the Russian Agricultural Export Development Center, recently told a satellite news agency that Russian dairy exports to China increased by 60% in 2024.
He explained that China—as well as countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa—has emerged as a major market for Russian dairy products. Ilyushin noted that while Russian dairy was once primarily exported to post-Soviet countries, exports have now expanded to 67 countries.
Notably, exports to Mongolia increased by 31% last year, and China has become the second-largest importer of Russian whole milk powder and whey, driven by the proactive efforts of Russian companies in the Chinese market.
