I’m aware of his other roles. Whether the other CEO’s at other companies like him is irrelevant here. The Chair / CEO relationship *here* is what mattered, and it clearly broke. Swami was all about “go slow to go fast” and DW clearly wants to go fast to go fast. A 30-year J&J veteran disagreed with him and has been forced out.
Your line “CEO’s run the show not the Chairperson” is spot on and is exactly my point. The Chair appears to be the one with the issues (as the various reviews/leaks reveal) yet because he has, let’s say, a ‘friendly’ board, it is the person who runs the show - the CEO - who has been forced out. It would be quite extraordinary for the company to continue chugging along at an operational level without this having quite an impact. It can’t be a coincidence that under this chair the company is searching for their third CEO since 2021.
