Really what I expected - MG is usually quite conservative and IMO quite correct in refusing to get into comment over competitors and being careful to provide (or not provide) information that may be misleading (or hype). I must say I had hoped that "imminent" would not be used such a long period - to me that word implies "next few days" but they do need to be sure that everything works prior to calling in the expert to validate the tests - I guess it would be foolish (and costly) to bring in the expert (who you are paying for) early.
I think the "ambush" comment was only in regard to the number of people present - there were clearly some substantial shareholders there - maybe (after a flight from Sydney) they would have appreciated a quiet evening.
