Short sales for Clarity over the past couple of weeks provides some interesting observations, particularly in relation to the share price movements in the lead up to the ASX 200 rebalance announcement after close of trading 7 March - the following chart provides daily gross short sales before and after the 7th March.
Short sales appear to have peaked on 7 March, at 13,481,027 (4.20% of issued shares) and if the grossed daily shorts are any guide then short sales may now be reducing slightly. This could support a more stable, if not stronger, share price in coming days.
