Waiting for retail money to come in has substantial market risk.
Getting the money secured in 24 hrs is better than producing a pile of compliant documents which incidentally leak all the time down to the issue price vs offering to insto and sophs who get much less disclosure and protection.
I would prefer a rights issue but at the same time I understand why the BOD has chosen this route given the market back drop.
