Govts clearly have underestimated the impact of cheap energy for some versus dear energy for others. This one thing can be the difference between being a great country and a poor one. The dearer energy countries have seen an abrupt increase in homelessness for instance.
Much the same as Govts have underestimated the impact of multiculturism in the long term. NSW govt for instance now openly stating we can't have free speech and multiculturism. No one voted for that outcome.
