As an investor, how you respond to an investment is your call. Your timeline and value of return is whatever you set as with your risk appetite. There are general guidelines that some may or may not know or even care to follow. The post that was being responded to was general and not relating to a specific instrument, it was aimed towards those more new to this game. The more experienced people already know what they need to do and have probably already planned and performed that action.
Individual circumstances are unique to an investor, and the choices they make managing their investment is theirs and their responsibility only and does not require explanation. Similarly, no one wants to hear someone constantly whining about one topic or belittling others or some of the other games played out on HC.
