Yes agreed but they wouldn't want to expend too much of their reputational capital flogging a dead horse.
I'm sure they wouldn't push too hard if they thought it might lead to closed doors the next time they have something decent to introduce to their network of BP contacts.
A few dollars are nice but there are other important considerations for them.
