Perhaps we need to pull in the the reins for a moment and reflect on 'other' attempts to discourage Australian ingenuity by debauched Governments and learn something from the process.
In the power generation industry where large furnaces are used, sophisticated filtration systems are used for emission minimisation. The two most commonly used are the older electrostatic precipitator [ESP] and the more recent bag house, for which both are 99% efficient.
However, both have their shortcomings in common and in different areas. With the new emerging emissions legislation coming out of the U.S.,both types will not be compliant with other technologies.
An Australian owned company has developed, trialled and proven their 'patented' Agglomerator. And now, their 'patented' multiple emissions tech,[MAPS]in a bolt on package to enable filtration systems to comply with these emerging legislations and have done so,some 8 years ago..ahead of legislation coming on line.. [trialled in Australia,Hong Kong and the U.S.]
Early last year my associate and I attended a CCS meeting in Sydney, hosted by Albanese and Madam Wong.
My learned friend was given less than 'thirty seconds' to explain his remarkable technology and was cut off completely when Albanese asked ..where does a man get a beer around here? and walked away. [Labor stupidity at its terminal best]
The Agglomerator tech is about to move offshore and be applied to substantial numbers of power stations in the U.S...from the knowledge learned at Gulfport Mississippi where it was first introduced in 2003....
Several of you guys have mentioned Indonesia today, well thoughts have wings...
Len Walker made a statement back in 2008,..that he was aware of specific "potential" opportunities in Indonesia which will be pursued when appropriate funding is in place.
Australia 's future is now aligned with Asia..whether we like it or not.Indonesia's main population centres on the island of Java, have no significant coal deposits and whose power needs are serviced by large power plants using imported coal,or natural gas as fuel.
Their coal is mined from 'significant' coal deposits on the island of Kalimantan and Sumatra. On these islands, the population is smaller and wide spread and it would be hard to justify construction of "large" coal fired power stations which are required to achieve low power coats.
In such situations, the prospect of using UCG on deeper deposits, with smaller power plants,[70 MW] creates the opportunity to provide low cost distributor power at the appropriate scale, with modular size increases available to match population growth.
IMO,Len Walker will re invent himself and the company in greater Asia, with loans structured to encourage the development of UCG and prolong the planets diminishing resources.
The Qld Govt has transgressed the law of natural dev- elopment with Cougar and Bligh and co will pay dearly for that at the next election.
Its not the end of Kingaroy....not yet!
