ASN has just announced 98% lithium exctraction using DLE. That is far higher than recovery of lithium using evaporation ponds. The more successes we hear like this, the more attractive East Brawley becomes.
"Anson and KOCH Successfully Complete Green River DLE PilotProgram – Delivering Industry Leading ResultsKey Findings from the Pilot Program:• DLE achieved an average lithium recovery rate of 98%.• Key brine contaminants average rejection greater than 99%, resulting in low purificationproduction costs.• Industry leading concentration achieved, with a Li:TDS ratio of up to 0.129, averaging 0.126,significantly above the target Li:TDS of 0.08, expected to lower costs due to less evaporationduring the EV battery grade purification process.• 43,500 gallons (165,000 litres) of high purity lithium chloride was produced that meet or exceededthe specifications required by downstream processors.• The DLE Pilot Plant ran for over seven months to monitor performance across different climaticconditions, providing essential data for the operation of a commercial plant; and• KTS to provide a Technical Annex that will include process guarantees for a commercial scale plant."
GO2 Lithium reported 98-99% last year; "The feed brine had an average lithium grade of 70 mg/L, and the barren brine 0.7 mg/L, indicating a recovery rate of 98-99%. These results align with LithiumBank's Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) in November 2023 and prove the commercial viability of the cDLE® technology.2 Oct 2024"
