I'm not sure I accept the basic premise of the conversation....I.e. "we really only have 2 choices, keep burning fossil fuels or go to hydrogen. Lithium is a stop gap.".... Electrification is a third choice that should not be dismissed too glibly.

Jb, I'm not convinced that lithium is necessarily a stop gap technology, but I'd be interested to understand your reasoning......there sure ain't no shortage of Lithium.....and even if there was, new battery technologies (e.g. Sodium batteries etc) are an absolute certainty to emerge and, in fact, our very own Fortescue Zero is developing new battery enhancing technology even as we communicate e.g. our beloved Elysia technology being embraced by Jaguar Land Rover and Leibherr Trucks.

A few years back there was a tussle between evs and hydrogen fuel cell cars. Ultimately evs won, and hydrogen FC cars faded into insignificance. I'm not totally dismissing hydrogen, in fact I hope it does become a future fuel, but at this point I have to agree with madam, green hydrogen doesn't have the runs on the board and at this point is arguably overhyped.
